Glazing Safety Films

What about it?

Perthshire Window Films offer a variety of safety films depending on your needs. We can supply manifestation films to meet Health and Safety Regulations and clear shatter resistant films to hold glass shards together in the event of an accident.

With large glazing becoming more and more prominent in the UK, safety is paramount.

Broken glass is dangerous, it makes short work of human skin and muscle and should not be taken lightly. Having a clear safety film installed to your glazing minimises the risk of injury due to breakage. For businesses this can mean difference between a huge injury claim or not. For homeowners, the difference between a loved one becoming severely injured and scarred for life or simply needing a window replaced.

Combined with a structural silicone edge retention system not only will broke glass stay together, it will remain in the frame.

Benefits of Safety Window Films.

  • Reduced chance of breakage (Manifestation Films).
  • Reduced chance of injury.
  • When used with edge retention, retains a barrier between inside and outside until replacement glass is organised.
  • Reduced chance of injury claims by the public for business premises

Are the films for this service tinted/reflective?

Safety films can be many things. Manifestation films are used to “mark” glazing in specific areas to meet Health and Safety requirements and make people aware of the glazing. Retention safety films are used to keep glass together in the event of an accident.

Manifestation can be coloured film, carefully placed dots or frosted squares. Safety retention films tend to be clear, however, we do have access to combination safety films that offer solar energy benefits as well as safety benefits. These films are usually tinted or reflective to a degree.
